I became Internet aware
in the early nineties and was convinced it was a passing fad. So whilst
dismissing the whole concept as hype, I watched cyberspace
developments with a certain skeptical interest. In 1996 I realised that
this fad was here to stay and a powerful marketing tool for any company if
worked correctly. The Internet will never make a poor sales department sell
more, but it will assist a good sales organisation to really soar!!
After 20 years plus in the motor trade in 1997 I had a major career change.
I purchased my first computer for £350.00 and set up an Internet marketing
company. I spent the next year teaching myself web design, HTML and selling
the knowledge I had learnt the previous day to companies who wanted web sites!
Thank goodness in the early days my clients had a sketchier knowledge of
the Internet than I had. But something must have worked because during 1998/99
one travel site averaged 90,000 hits a week!! I sold the company name, and
the website was quietly absorbed over a short period into another company's
site.

50 may not seem the best age to up sticks and relocate to Kefalonia, Greece.
But always
up for a challenge, and seeing an opportunity, Judi &
I are off.
I developed my love of Greece during the early seventies when I set off by bus from London for a year of travel. Corfu was going to be the "first port of call" in a year of traveling to see the world. However, the world had to wait! Corfu was like finding a "paradise on earth", it was long before mass tourism took over the island
and I stayed for about 5 years instead of the planned week!!
On returning to the UK I then had to set about earning a living. After a spell of working in various office environments, I set up my own sunbed hire business which I ran successfully for about 9 years. I also became involved in the residential letting's sector, managing my own properties.
During this time, I visited Cyprus
frequently, having made my first visit in about 1991. I found myself involved in building a couple of web sites for local businesses and it was there that I also gained
experience in buying and renting out villas, plus the pitfalls to look out for.
Determined to one day make Greece my home, I went to college
to learn the Greek language (properly!). Being able to read and write Greek is vital to any
contracts we agree with our landlords, it also helps to gain their respect,
as most of the time they assume no one English can ever speak Greek let alone
read and write it!!
Judi Hunt
I met Paul and
discovered we had so much in common especially our love of Greece! I am sure
there is a grand plan for us all somewhere, as it seems the last few
years everything I have learnt and been involved with has been leading up to this fantastic
venture with Paul!
The objective of this website
is to appeal to those people who would love to experience the real flavour
of Greece. Not a packaged version complete with noisy neighbours, thin walls,
and over excited teenagers who have had too much to drink.
We don't own a bus, so
bussing you from venue to venue is not an option even if we wanted to, which
we don't. We want to appeal to people who do not want to be organised by
the package holiday industry. Those who want the freedom of being independent
but with the back up and support of a small, friendly company (two of us)
whilst staying or living in villas and apartments which have been quality
checked by us personally. We would never ask our clients to stay in accommodation
we would not be happy to live in ourselves.
So, if you paint, walk, or
just love stunning scenery, want to stop where ever takes your
fancy just to smell the thyme and sage brush on the mountainsides, want
to see the view from the top of a mountain, or just fancy the off road bit
getting there, we are with you all the way!! You may want a small personal
trip to a nice private beach for a swim and a spot of lunch (by car or small
motor boat.) Whilst you can use as much or little of our facilities as you
wish, we can offer you a chance to see the real Greece with our eyes, to
be introduced to and meet local people who really want to make your stay
special and show you what Greece is really like.
I am at my happiest
when road testing a new taverna or trying out a new track I've found. Greece can be a nightmare, or it can be the
holiday of a lifetime. Problems can happen whilst on holiday, that's life.
In our experience difficult situations are never a problem providing any action is instant and corrective. We can assure you once tasted you will
always want to return, or do what Judi once did, attempt to sell her return
ticket to the UK to the Greek passport control officer at the airport. Come
taste the flower and become a Lotus eater like us!!
Mean while back in the
office........the website planning session was going totally to plan.
